After Pushkar fair, Nagaur fair is the second largest cattle fair in Rajasthan celebrated in Nagaur district of Jodhpur. This festival is held in the months of January and February. This is a week-long festival; animals are adorned with colorful accessories. Bullocks, camel and horses are on display for open trade in this fair.
The Indian biggest red chili is traded at large in this festival. Other various items such as wooden items, iron crafts, camel leather accessories etc are also on display for sale. The owners of the cattle like to flaunt with their colorful turbans and long moustaches.
A tourist will see new things in this festival. The main events of this festival are competitions such as such as tug of war, camel races, bullock races and cockfights. Jugglers, puppeteers, storytellers also add entertainment zest to the fair. The folk music and dance of Jodhpur are performed by the folk dancers and musicians. One will get a true picture of the rich cultural tradition of the Nagaur city in this festival.
