Brahma Temple is the major attractions to the tourists located on the bank of the holy Pushkar Lake.
This is the only temple in India dedicated to Lord Brahma, the creator, preserver and also the destroyer of the Universe. Hindus visit this temple in great devotion to Lord Brahma. This temple is about 11 kms away from Ajmer.
According to Hindu mythology, the demon, Vajra Nabh was destroyed by Lord Brahma throwing a lotus flower. The Pushkar Lake was created when the petals of the lotus fall on the ground. The temple was built on the bank of the Lake to offer prayers to Lord Brahma.
According to another legend, Lord Brahma once comes to Pushkar to perform a Yagna. Lord married a local girl Gayatri to complete the Yagna. When Saraswati, wife of Brahma came to know about this she cursed Lord Brahma. So, Brahma is worshipped in this Brahma temple in Pushkar.
